Igniting Creative Energy Competition
This competition offers a great way to get your students thinking creatively about energy and water efficiency awareness! Top students at elementary, middle and high school levels will win a trip to Washington D.C., as will the teacher with the highest average score of their top 15 students' entries. Get your students involved to have a chance at this exciting opportunity.
The Richard C. Bartlett Environmental Education Award
This award was established to distinguish the teachers who best represent Richard C. Bartlett's Passion for and leadership in environmental education. This award is given annually to an outstanding middle or high school teacher who successfully integrates environmental education into their curriculum and engages students in interdisciplinary solutions to environmental challenges. This year the award will go to a middle school teacher (grades 5-8) - $5,000 to the winner and $750 to two merit winners each. Click here to nominate yourself or a teacher you know!
We Can Change the World Challenge
Siemens and other organizations invite you and your students to participate in their We Can Change the World Challenge. Challenges are specific to Elementary, Middle and High School level classes. Prizes include grant money, conference opportunities, fully funded class trips, Discovery Channel school assemblies, scholarship money for students and more!

National Environmental Education Foundation
NEEF and Samsung are partnering to celebrate those innovative schools from across the country that have used energy efficiency to enhance education, reduce environmental impacts and generate cost savings. The $10,000 Sustainable Energy Award will be presented to the top three high schools that can demonstrate how they have engaged students and teachers in school-wide energy savings through the creative and innovative use of technology. Their achievement will be showcased as models for other schools looking to take on this challenge. The national Sustainable Energy Award is made possible through the generous support of Samsung Electronics America.

National Education Association (NEA)
- Throughout the year, the NEA Foundation awards close to 200 grants to support educators' efforts to close the achievement gaps, develop creative learning opportunities for students, and enhance their own professional development. There are two primary grant categories open to public education professionals: Student Achievement Grants and Learning & Leadership Grants. Applications for both can be completed online.
C2i Mobile Project: Post your idea to become eligible for a $1,000 - The NEA Foundation in partnership with the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) wants to know how mobile phone technology can be used in the classroom to transform teaching and learning. The Foundation will award up to five individuals $1,000 for the best ideas posted on the C2i page on the U.S. Department of Education’s Open Innovation Portal. award

Grant funding money is now available for purchasing a Rocket Composter which will help you :
1. Recycle your school's food waste to eliminate disposal costs
2. Reduce your facility's carbon footprint and increase your recycling rates
3. Produce useful compost for your facility's landscaping needs
4. Educate students incorporating the Rocket into the school's curriculum
Primary applicant should be either an educator who currently teaches in a public K-12, public charter, or higher education institution, or a school-based service-learning coordinator whose primary role is to coordinate service-learning projects in a public, charter, or higher education institution. Grow to Learn NYC, the Citywide School Gardens Initiative has a goal to see that every New York City
public school student has the opportunity to get their hands into the soil -- to learn and grow.
Their efforts are focused on ensuring that garden committee volunteers have the resources they need, including Mini-Grant opportunities
from Grow to Learn and free resources and technical assistance from their partners at GreenThumb, to
form successful and sustainable school garden programs.
